Leads & selling
Your public store page
Most small shops do not need a website; they need one link they can send to a customer or put in a bio. Your store page is that link. It is generated from the catalogue you already maintain in Khata, so it cannot drift out of date the way a separately-built site does.
Before you start
- A Khata account with your business name and address filled in.
- At least one product, if you want products to show.
Setting it up
Each step says who does it, so you are never looking for a screen that does not exist.
- 1
The page already exists
AutomaticEvery business gets one. Its address uses your business ID, in the form lskhata.com/partners/<your-id>.
- 2
Fill in what customers should see
YouBusiness name, address and the short description are what a visitor reads first. A page with a blank description looks abandoned even when the shop is busy.
- 3
Publish the products you want shown
YouYour catalogue is not published wholesale. Only products you choose to show appear, so trade-only lines and internal items can stay private.
- 4
Verification, if you want to be listed
We do thisThe page works whether or not you are listed on our public partners directory. Being listed there is a separate request, and we verify each one by hand.
What moves, and in which direction
- Khata → the page
- Business name, address, description, published categories and published products.
- Never published
- Cost prices, margins, customer records, khata balances, staff and every report. None of these can appear on a store page.
How to know it worked
- Open your page in a browser where you are not signed in — that is what a customer sees.
- Check that nothing appears which you would not put in a shop window.
What this does not do
- It is a storefront, not a shop: there is no cart, no online payment and no order placement.
- You cannot use your own domain for it.
- The page's address is derived from your business ID and cannot be chosen.
When it does not work
- The page says no products found.
- Nothing has been published yet. Publishing is per product and deliberately opt-in.
- A product change is not showing.
- Store pages are cached for a few minutes so they stay fast. Wait, then reload.
